Ephraim King Wilson

Ephraim King Wilson (* September 15, 1771 in Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland; † January 2, 1834 ) was an American politician. He was the father of William Sydney Wilson, a Confederate politician and officer in the Confederate Army, and Ephraim King Wilson, a U.S. senator.

Wilson graduated in 1790 at Princeton College, studied law and was then admitted as a solicitor in 1792. Then he opened a law practice in own Snow Hill. Years later, he decided to pursue a political career. He was elected as a Jackson Democrat in the 20th and the 21th U.S. Congress, where he represented the eighth district of Maryland election. Wilson remained there on 4 March 1827 to 3 March 1831st After an unsuccessful nomination for the 22th U.S. Congress, he returned to his work in his law practice back, which he pursued until his death in 1834. He was then buried in the cemetery of the Makemie Memorial Presbyterian Church in Snow Hill.
