List of FC Barcelona seasons

The balance sheets of the season FC Barcelona recorded all important tournament rankings of the association since its existence in 1899. FC Barcelona since 1900 takes part in official football competitions and plays since 1929 as one of the founding members of the first Spanish league, La Liga. Season Results

Before the establishment of the Primera División (until 1929 )

By 1929, Spain did not have a national football league, instead there were regional leagues. The first of these leagues was the Campionat de Catalunya ( initially Copa Macaya ) for Catalan club teams. Since the inaugural tournament in 1900, the FC Barcelona took part in this competition. The winner of the Catalan Championship qualified for the Copa del Rey, which was held at the Regional Championships in the same season in the port. From 1910 onwards, the Copa del Rey had the status of a national championship and was partially discharged in league mode.

Primera División (since 1929)

1929 Primera División became the first Spanish football league was founded. Barcelona was one of the ten founding members and has since never been relegated. The Copa del Rey, which was virtually a Spanish Cup by then, continued to exist as a Spanish Cup and was henceforth be held exclusively in the knockout mode. Until the abolition in 1940 Barcelona also continued to participate in the Campionat de Catalunya.
