Würrich

Würrich is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Würrich is centrally located in the Hunsrück, right on the Hunsrückhöhenstraße B 327 and in the immediate vicinity of the airport Frankfurt -Hahn.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1295 and was owned by the Counts of Sponheim. Already in 1317 was named in Würrich a chapel. 1437 was the place to the Margrave of Baden and the Counts Palatine of the Rhine, the managed as common men and Würrich Belg. In 1708 came the division of the dominion, Belg and Würrich the Margrave of Baden were allocated. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was then assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. In the hallway, " On the Night" a Roman villa was discovered in 1870. The former school house Würrich was dismantled in 1996 on the original site and in folklore and open-air museum Roscheider yard rebuilt. In May 2000, topping out ceremony was celebrated. After the house was used for the demonstration of half-timbered construction and for appropriate school class projects.
