Lincoln Parish, Louisiana

The Lincoln Parish (French: Paroisse de Lincoln) is a parish located in the state of Louisiana in the United States. In 2010, the Parish had 46 735 inhabitants and a population density of 38.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( Parish Seat) is Ruston.

History

The Lincoln Parish was formed in 1873 from parts of Bienville Parish, Claiborne Parish of, the Jackson Parish and Union Parish. It was named after Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), the sixteenth President of the United States.
