Players Tour Championship 2011/2012 – Event 12

The FFB Snooker Open 2012 ( according to the main sponsor and as the Arcades Shopping Open 2012 referred to ) was the twelfth event of the Players Tour Championship 2011/12. The snooker tournament was held in two parts: on 15 and 16 December 2011, the first three rounds were in the World Snooker Academy at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield held the tournament finals from the round of 16 was in the event forum in Fürstenfeldbruck (car number plate FFB) in Munich discharged. It was the twelfth and final individual tournament of the PTC series before the final tournament and was transferred as one of six European tournaments, at least the finals on TV.

It was decided, therefore, to avoid in the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield and play in the week after the UK Championship immediately before also taking place in Sheffield Event 11 of the Tour the first rounds of Haupturniers. At the planned three days early January 2012 then found in Fürstenfeldbruck only the last 15 games from the second round to the Finals.

Like last year, many players did not, for it was no longer to qualify for the finals on the last tournament of the series, which is why only a starting field of 128 participants was compiled. The originally scheduled qualifying round for amateurs accounted therefore. Tournament was for all games including Final Best of seven.

Parallel to the tournament Amateurscup has been played, the winner a wildcard for the German Masters 2012 got. The final of this cup was played on the table in the main tournament.

On the first day of the tournament succeeded with Matthew Stevens and Ding Junhui first two players to achieve an official maximum break on the same day.

Round 1 to 3

One half of the participants played from their first three rounds on Thursday, 15 December, the second half on December 16. The games were held in the Sheffield Snooker Academy.

The remaining 16 players competed in the first event of the new year on January 6, 2012 at the City Hall of the event Forums Fürstenfeldbruck the second round to. On this and the two following days the tournament was played at the end.
