Daniel Brewster

Daniel Baugh Brewster ( November 23, 1923, Baltimore County, Maryland; † 19 August 2007) was an American politician of the Democratic Party, who represented the state of Maryland in both Houses of Congress of the United States.

Life

Brewster went to school in Baltimore and Concord (New Hampshire). He then studied at Princeton University, then at Johns Hopkins University. In 1942 it was used during the Second World War with the United States Marine Corps. There he served until 1946. After the war Brewster graduated from the Law School of the University of Maryland in Baltimore and was admitted to the bar in 1949.

Policy

In 1950 he was elected to the House of Representatives of Maryland, where he remained until 1958. He joined then in the second electoral district of Maryland in the U.S. congressional elections and managed to move into the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served until 1963. As a result, he won the Senate election and moved in 1963 to the U.S. Senate, where he served for a term until 1969. The re-election he lost to Charles Mathias. In 1969 he was accused of having accepted a gift during his tenure as a senator.
