Hirschfeld, Rhineland-Palatinate

Hirschfeld ( Hunsrück) is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Hirschfeld is centrally located in the Hunsrück. South of the village rises the Idarwald, north runs the Hunsrückhöhenstrasse B 327 A few kilometers north-east is the Hahn airport. In addition, Hirschfeld is on the route of the Hunsrück cross train.

History

There are several prehistoric and early historical grave mound on the Roman road Belginum - Boppard ( Hunsrückhöhenstraße ). The first written mention of the village and the church took place in 1353rd By the end of the 18th century Hirschfeld was an independent rule that last belonged to the Counts of Cratz Scharfstein.
