The province is bordered on the north by the region of Abruzzo ( L'Aquila ), to the east Molise (Isernia province ), on the southeast by Campania ( Caserta ), to the south by the province of Latina and to the west by the province of Rome.

The landscape of the province is in the north of the Simbruini, the Monti Ernici and the Monti della Meta, foothills of the Abruzzo determined. The province was re-formed on January 2, 1927 from the eastern part of the province of Rome, the landscape Ciociaria and the western part of the province of Terra del Lavoro. Today, especially in the tourism marketing, often the entire province of Frosinone equated with the Ciociaria.
