Harrison County (Mississippi)

The Harrison County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The Management seats ( County Seats ) are Gulfport, named after its location on the Gulf of Mexico, and Biloxi. It is one of ten counties in Mississippi that have two county administrations.

History

The Harrison County was formed on February 5, 1841 from parts of Hancock County and Jackson County. It was named after William Henry Harrison (1773-1841), the ninth President of the United States.
