Perry County (Missouri)

The Perry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 18,971 inhabitants and a population density of 15.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Perryville.

Geography

The County is located in southeastern Missouri and is bordered to the east by Illinois, from which it is separated by the Mississippi River. It has an area of 1254 square kilometers, of which 25 square kilometers are water surface. At the Perry County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Perry County was from parts of Ste on 1 January 1820. Genevieve County formed. It was named, as is the district capital of Perryville, after the naval officer Oliver Hazard Perry (1785-1819), a hero of the War of 1812.
