Randolph County (Missouri)
The Randolph County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 25 414 inhabitants and a population density of 20.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Huntsville, which was according to Daniel Hunt, an early settler, named.
Geography
The County is located in north-central Missouri and has an area of 1263 square kilometers, of which 14 square kilometers are water surface. It borders the following Nachbarcountys:
History
The Randolph County was formed on January 22, 1829 from parts of Chariton County. It was named after John Randolph (1773-1833), a deputy in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senator from Virginia.
