Players Tour Championship 2011/2012 – Event 11
The eleventh event of the Players Tour Championship 2011/12 was a snooker tournament, which was held in Sheffield on 10th and from 17th to 19th December 2011 at the English Institute of Sport. In the World Snooker Academy in the EIS so far only tournaments were held, which were counted for the English half of the PTC series. Since this time but not a sixth continental venue could be found, the remaining European tournament was moved to the center of the English snooker sport. Since the Academy itself does not provide adequate space for spectators, three tables were laid in the badminton hall of the Institute, from where took place the television transmissions.
158 players have registered for the tournament. Tournament was for all games including Final Best of seven.
Preliminary round
30 players had to qualify for the free places in the main tournament. In an advance on December 10 held preliminary round played 60 amateur participants in the main round out a week later.
Finals
On Saturday, December 17, the main tournament began with 128 participants. The 64 players in the top half of the seedings played on the first day, the first three principal rounds, during the day it was the bottom half of the tables. The areas around the decision from the second round were held this time on a Monday.
