Behren-Lübchin

Behren- Lübchin is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Gnoien based in the same city.

Geography

The community Behren- Lübchin lies between the small towns of Bad brawn and Gnoien, about 40 kilometers east of Rostock. North to Behren- Lübchin borders the district Vorpommern - Rügen. The municipal area of the triangle of rivers Cernosin, Recknitz and Warbel is slightly hilly and reaches a maximum of 37 m above sea level. NN. Within the area near the local part is the Duck joke Duck witzer lake.

To Behren- Lübchin include the districts of Old Quitzenow, Bäbelitz, Bobbin, Duck joke Friedrichshof, United Nieköhr ( incorporated on 31 December 1999), Small Nieköhr, New Nieköhr, New Quitzenow, Samow, Viecheln and Wasdow.

History

Near Behren- Lübchin was a large Slavic fortress of Zirzipanen. It was probably destroyed around 1171 by King Valdemar I of Denmark. Findings of this fortification were used for the open-air archaeological museum Gross Raden. Between the district and the district of New Nieköhr the neighboring community Walkendorf was the Slavic Wall New Nieköhr. Studies in the 1960s were able to classify potsherds from several centuries of continuous Slavic settlement for the first time here.

The present district of United Nieköhr appeared in 1448 the first time in a document as Nycore. The name comes from the Slavic and means about the place of Nikur.

On September 5, 2011, the formerly independent municipality Wasdow Old Quitzenow, Bobbin, Friedrichshof and New Quitzenow was incorporated into Behren- Lübchin with its districts.

Today the district Bobbin was first mentioned as a Babi in a document in 1282. The name derives from the Slavic word baba for the elderly and it means about the place of the old.

  • Feldsteinkirche in Behren- Lübchin from the 13th century: late Romanesque Granitquaderbau embossed with a choir with a semicircular, external three -sided apse. The somewhat later, square west tower with an octagonal floor has a curved hood with a lantern ( Welsche hood ). Remnants of the former exterior painting are preserved. The oldest bell dates from 1435th The altarpiece from 1712 consists of a carved crucifixion scene in front of a painted landscape. On the west gallery is a Lütkemüller - organ of 1863.

  • Manor House in Small Nieköhr: Single-level stucco building with gables of around 1865.
  • Manor House in Samow 1658: In its classical form in 1810 as a two-story stucco building renovated in a spacious landscaped grounds, after 1992 remodeling for holiday apartments and a restaurant.
  • Manor house built in Viecheln by Georg Blohm for his son Wilhelm Blohm designed by Heinrich Thormann 1868 as a two-storey stucco building in the Tudor style.

Transport links

Behren- Lübchin is located on the road connecting Gnoien to Bad aspic. This road forms the feeder road for both cities ( A 20, exit Bad jelly). The districts Duck joke, wholesale and retail Nieköhr are close to or directly on the B 110 ( Rostock- Demmin ). In Ticino is connected by train to Rostock.
