Dolgen am See

Dolgen am See is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Laage, located in the eponymous city.

Geography

The community Dolgen the lake lies between the cities Laage and Schwaan and is located around 20 kilometers from Rostock. The districts of the municipality are grouped around the three kilometer long and 300 meters wide Dolgener lake. In the south the city borders on the district Friedrichshof to the Hohensprenzer lake. The terrain is hilly and reaches the Dolger mountain a height of 71 m above sea level. NN. In the north the municipality borders the municipality Dummerstorf, on the east by the city Laage and on the south by the High Sprenz and the regional airport Rostock- Laage.

The primarily Farming area is a nature lover because of the largely intact natural ( nature reserve ) and the water quality of lakes greatly appreciated.

To Dolgen am See include the districts Dolgen, Friedrichshof, United Lantow, Kankel, Sabel and Striesdorf.

History

The earliest creation and occupation of the site was probably caused by Slavs. Located on a peninsula on the southeastern shore of the lake is Dolgener a dirt wall of the middle Slavic period ( 10th century ). Remains of another medieval castle walls, the "Old Castle ", located in the woods east of the road between the hamlets Dolgen and Striesdorf.

In 1285 the Lord gave to Werle Nicholas II the village a Rostock citizens and the place Dolgen was first mentioned. A few years later it came into the possession of the monastery of the Holy Cross. The uradelige Mecklenburg family of Drieberg, already 1172 registered in documents, taught at the beginning of the 16th century in Dolgen a farm one. From the late 18th century until 1945 belonged to the estate of the family of ritterschaftliche Plessen. Until his death in 1837 Leopold von Plessen lived with his wife Sophie and their children in the mansion Dolgen, the Mecklenburg represented at the Congress of Vienna and the autonomy of Mecklenburg could help preserve it as a small state. In 1837, the district Dolgen 93 inhabitants and its own school. In 1928, the size of the manor Dolgen was reported at 468.1 hectares. The community Dolgen the lake was formed on 31 December 1999 from the communities and Sabel Striesdorf

Transport links

Its proximity to the city Laage also benefits Dolgen the lake from the favorable infrastructure ( close to Rostock, Güstrow and the B 103 highway access Laage on the A 19 and close proximity to the regional airport Rostock- Laage ). The nearest train stations are at Laage ( breakpoint Kronskamp ) and in Dummerstorfer district Scharstorf at the Lloyd track.
