Edward Dowse

Edward Dowse ( born October 22, 1756 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, † September 3, 1828 in Dedham, Massachusetts ) was an American politician. In the years 1819 and 1820, he represented the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

About Edward Dowses youth and education nothing is handed down. He moved to Dedham and after the American Revolution in maritime trade with China and India worked. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic- Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1818 he was in the 13th electoral district of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Nathaniel Ruggles on March 4, 1819. This mandate he held until his resignation on 26 May 1820. About the reason for Dowses resignation and his other activities after leaving the Congress is also not known. He died on September 3, 1828 in Dedham, where he was also buried.
