Edward P. Little

Edward Preble Little ( born November 7, 1791 in Marshfield, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, † February 6, 1875 in Lynn, Massachusetts ) was an American politician. In the years 1852 and 1853, he represented the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Edward Little attended the public schools of his home. As a child he went with his father on the frigate "Boston" on the lake. He then worked in agriculture. Later, he began a political career as a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1829 and 1834, and again from 1835 to 1838 he was a deputy in the House of Representatives from Massachusetts.

After the death of Mr Orin Fowler Little was at the due election for the ninth seat of Massachusetts as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 13 December 1852. Since he did not run at the regular election in 1852, he could only finish the current term in Congress until March 3, 1853. From 1853 to 1857 headed the Little customs authority at the port of Plymouth. After that, he worked again in agriculture. He died on February 6, 1875 in Lynn.
