Risk number

Meaning of the digits:

  • 2 - risk of escape of gas due to pressure or chemical reaction
  • 3 - Flammability of liquids (gases / vapors) or self -heating liquid
  • 4 - Flammability of solids or self -heating solid
  • 5 - Oxidizing (fire -intensifying) effect
  • 6 - Risk of toxicity or infection
  • 7 - Risk of radioactivity
  • 8 - Danger of corrosion
  • 9 - at 1st position: Environmentally hazardous substance; Miscellaneous dangerous substances
  • 9 - to 2nd or 3rd position: Risk of spontaneous violent reaction
  • 0 - No special danger (only as a placeholder the second location )
  • X - Reacts dangerously with water ( the number prefixed )
