Michael J. McEttrick

Michael Joseph McEttrick ( born June 22, 1848 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, † December 31, 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts ) was an American politician. Between 1893 and 1895 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Michael McEttrick attended Washington Grammar School and the Roxbury Latin School. He then worked as a journalist. In 1884 he worked as Assistant Assessor for the City Council of Boston. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1885 and 1891 he was a member of the House of Representatives of Massachusetts, where he led the Democratic group. In 1892 he sat in the state Senate.

In the congressional elections of 1892 McEttrick as an independent Democrat in the tenth electoral district of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC was chosen, where he became the successor of Joseph H. Walker on March 4, 1893. Since he was not nominated in 1894 for re-election, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1895. In the years 1906, 1907 and 1913 he was again a deputy in the House of Representatives from Massachusetts; in 1908 he returned again back in the state Senate. Professionally, he was working in Boston in the real estate industry. In this city Michael McEttrick also died on 31 December 1921.
