SAP Open

The SAP Open was a year in the U.S. San Jose been rendered, internationally staffed tennis tournament of the ATP. The first tournament was held in 1889 as tennis championship of the Pacific Coast (Pacific Coast Championships ). Over the years, the venue of Monterey moved over San Rafael, Berkeley, San Francisco and San Jose to Albany finally ( since 1994).

A German player could not be registered in the list of winners themselves. Record winner is the American William Johnston, who won the singles title nine times. The most successful doubles player is John McEnroe, who won a total of eight times the double competition with various partners ( with Peter Fleming six times ). The record winner in the individual since the beginning of the Open Era are John McEnroe and Andre Agassi, both won five times.

The tournament was last conducted in February and lasted a week. It was on hard court in the hall, the HP Pavilion to Played 546 930 U.S. dollars prize money, of which the winner received 98,700 U.S. dollars. In 2012 it was announced that the tournament is not played after 2013. The rights were sold to the tournament in Memphis, which in turn sold his rights to Rio de Janeiro. From 1994 to 2001 the tournament was called Sybase Open, then Open Siebel and SAP Open last (after the main sponsor SAP).
