Stolpe, Parchim

Stolpe is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Parchimer surrounding headquartered in Parchim.

Geography and transport

The municipality is situated 14 kilometers south of Parchim at the northern foothills of the mountains Ruhner. A large part of the municipal area is wooded, as exist in the western part of the stumbling wood, in the south of the four mountain pines and in the east the stumbling firs. The highest point in the municipality is the Tobias mountain with 105 meters above sea level. NHN.

Federal highway 191 runs about six kilometers north of the community. The Federal Highway 24 runs through the municipal area, here has a motorway service station and is across the connection points Neustadt- Glewe (10 km) or Parchim (6 km).

Quarters are Barkow, Granzin and Stolpe.

History

Stolpe was mentioned as villa Stolp in documents in 1274. The place name is derived from the old Slavic word for stlŭpŭ column or " fish stand in the river " from, a device for fishing.

The coat of arms was approved on 25 November 1999 by the Home Office and registered under No. 199 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Blazon: " In red two diagonally crossed golden ears, accompanied on both sides and bottom of each one sechsspeichigen golden wheel "

The coat of arms was designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick.
