Dobin am See is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, Germany. It is administered by the Office Crivitz based in Crivitz.

Geography

Dobin am See lies on the northeastern shore of Lake Schwerin ( Outer Lake ), north-east of the middle of a hilly terminal moraine dam Paul. The heights rise of 37.8 m above sea level. NHN, the mean level of Lake Schwerin, more than 80 m above sea level. NHN to. Nearby cities include other Schwerin and Brüel. Among the lakes in the municipality include the Long Lake, the lake Neuschlagsdorfer that Schlese and two black lakes.

History

The community Dobin am See there since 13 June 2004. It was created by a merger of the former municipalities Retgendorf and Rubow. The name Dobin goes back to a castle that was built by the Abodritenfürst Niklot 1147 between Lake Schwerin and Döpe in New Flessenow. As part of a punitive expedition of Henry the Lion in 1160 the retreating Niklot destroyed the castle in order to prevent encirclement. Most villages in the municipality of composite were first documented in the 13th century, Flessenow about as Vlassenow in 1241. The town's name probably comes from the Old Slavic word vlaga and means moist place.

The family of passerine belonged from the 15th to the 18th century, the Old Places Schlagsdorf, Buchholz, Flessenow, New Schlagsdorf, Retgendorf and Rubow. The area belonged to the Second World War to the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg -Schwerin. After 1945 the town belonged only to the state of Mecklenburg and then from 1952 to 1990 for the district of Schwerin.

The municipality is located north of state road 104 and is divided by route of the motorway A14.

Personalities

Between 1844 and 1849 the poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Faller life was staying at the landowner and lawyer Samuel Fast in the district of beech wood. Many of his songs were written here.
