Milow, Germany

The municipality is part of the Office Milow Grabow in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ).

Geography and Transport

The community in southwest Mecklenburg -Vorpommern on the east by the state of Brandenburg and is located on the regional road between Grabow and Lenzen. The Meynbach flows through the municipal area in the south-west, where it flows north of Krinitz in the Old Elde, which in turn touches the community in the West.

The municipality consists of the villages Deibow, Görnitz Kastorf, Krinitz, Milow and Semmerin.

History

Historical findings, such as urns and arrowheads, speak for an early settlement of the district. The fertile lands of the municipality once belonged to the estate Pröttlin. Until the 19th century buildings were constructed in timber and clay construction, only afterwards was the gradual conversion to brick houses.

Before resolution of the countries in 1952 Milow was within the former Brandenburg district Westprignitz.

On 1 January 1974 Krinitz was incorporated into Gorlosen. On the initiative of residents self-employment of the municipality and the district Görnitz from 1 May 1990 could be achieved. On 13 June 2004, the annexation was made by Milow.

Church

The village church in Milow is an unusually wide field stone. Above the west gable was built later, a lattice tower. Noteworthy is a native of the 16th century, carved with the Madonna in the shrine. In the wings of the altar there are reliefs of Marian history. For the interior of the church continue to include two carved figures: Angel and Peter, which also date from the 16th century.
