Warnkenhagen

Warnkenhagen is a municipality in the district of Rostock in the German state of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. The community is managed by the Office Mecklenburg Switzerland domiciled in the not office belonging Teterow city.

Geography

The community Warnkenhagen, west of the Mecklenburg Switzerland, is located in a hilly area on the Schaalbeke that flows towards southeast to Lake Teterower, but is connected by trenches in the West with the Warnow. The nearest towns are Teterow (twelve kilometers ), Laage (19 km) and Güstrow (25 km). The districts Tellow and Tenze in Schaalbeketal located in a conservation area.

To Warnkenhagen include the districts goddess, Hessenstein, New Tenze, Tellow and Tenze.

History

1398 emerged the place Warnkenhagen first time in a document. From this period dates the brick church, which has since been restored several times. Today the district goddess, originally a Slavic settlement was first mentioned in 1589. Both places were up in the middle of the 20th century manors.
