Garvin County, Oklahoma

Garvin County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Pauls Valley.

Geography

The County is located in south-central Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2107 square kilometers, of which 16 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: McClain County, Pontotoc County, Murray County, Carter County, Stephens County and Grady County.

History

Garvin County was formed on 16 July 1907 as original county of Chickasaw country. It was named for Samuel Garvin, a leader of the Chickasaw.
