Hale County (Alabama)

The Hale County is a county located in the state of Alabama in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Greensboro.

Geography

The County is located in west-central Alabama, is about 60 km from the border of Mississippi and has an area of 1700 square kilometers, of which 33 square kilometers are water surface. The western boundary is formed by the Black Warrior River. History

Hale County was formed on 30 January 1867. It was named after Colonel Stephen Fowler Hale, an officer of the Confederate Army.
