Chambers County (Alabama)

The Chambers County is a county located in the state of Alabama in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lafayette.

Geography

Chambers County is located in eastern Alabama, bordering the neighboring state of Georgia; the eastern boundary is formed by the Chattahoochee River. Within Alabama, it is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Lee County, Tallapoosa County and Randolph County. Chambers County has an area of ​​1562 square kilometers, of which 15 square kilometers of water surfaces.

History

Chambers County was formed on December 18, 1832 from parts of the former Creek Indians belonging to the country. It was named after Henry H. Chambers, a Senator from Alabama.

The average age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 89.6 males to females age 18 and over, there 85.3 males.
