Zölkow

Zölkow is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Parchimer surrounding headquartered in Parchim.

Geography

Zölkow lies in a flat area with no outstanding heights. The largest part of the carrying of the Warnow municipal area is used for agriculture, just to the east there is a smaller forest area. Larger lakes do not exist. The community is located 20 kilometers north of Parchim and 12 kilometers west of Crivitz.

Quarters are the courtyard Grabow, Kladrum, Groß Niendorf and Zölkow. Further features include the chief injector settlement and the settlement elm to the community.

History

Zölkow was first mentioned in 1328 as Tzollekowe. The place name is derived from the name of the Slavic locator Solek therefore means place of Solek.

1873 bought Kossebade the community Zölkow from a part of the Spruce Mountain.

Effective 1 January 2012 Groß Niendorf was amalgamated with the districts Groß Niendorf, High injectors settlement and elm settlement.

  • Village church and rectory Kladrum: Gothic stone church from the 13th or 14th century. Destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in the 17th century and redesigned the interior in the 19th century. The tower with its rare for Mecklenburg Baroque dome was in the 1990s a new covering. The interior of the church was re-painted in 2009. At the parish also includes the Kirchdörfer Bülow and WESSIN.

Transport and Infrastructure

Federal highway 321 runs southeast. The Federal Highway 14 is on the junction Schwerin -east (24 km).
