. mt is the country code top -level domain ( ccTLD) of the State of Malta. It was introduced on 2 December 1992 and is managed by the Network Information Centre Malta ( Malta shortly NIC ).


The extension. Mt may be used only by firms directly linked to Malta, provided there is no branch in the country. The domain must exactly match the company name. If it is a registered trademark, is to present a copy of the relevant certificate when you register. In addition, NIC Malta requires disclosure of the tax identification number.

The Contracting Authority expressly reserves the right to remove wrongly registered. Mt domains without warning. Due to the restrictive eligibility criteria in the top -level domain rather not widespread internationally, for example, were in June 2004, only about 2,250. Mt domains registered.
