. bj is the country code top -level domain ( ccTLD) of Benin. It was introduced on 18 January 1996 and initially the government Ministry of Telecommunications, later the company Benin Telecoms SA allocated based in Cotonou.


A. Bj domain may only be registered by individuals or companies that can demonstrate to the contracting authority a postal address in the country for the purpose of communication. A residence or an establishment are not required, however, a post office box is not sufficient according to the official criteria. There are numerous second- level domains for certain holders, which can be used alternatively to a bj domain:. .
