Bazegney

Bazegney is a commune in the Vosges department of the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, to Canton Dompaire and in 2000 founded Kommunalverband Secteur de Dompaire.

Geography

The 112 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring Bazegney municipality located 20 kilometers north- west of Epinal ( straight line ), in the valley of Robert, a tributary of the lattice.

Neighboring communities of Bazegney are Vaubexy in the north, Derbamont in the east, Bouzemont in the south, the west and Racécourt Ahéville in the northwest.

History

1310 emerged the first place as Beseingneis as part of the ban of Bouzemont in a document on. The domination of Bazegney was divided between the Dukes of Lorraine and the chapter of Saint- Gengoult in Toul.

The present church was built in 1829, the town hall and school building was erected 1834/1835. A school now exist in Bazegney no more, but the building is still the mayor's office ( Mairie ).
