Hennecourt

Hennecourt is a commune with 349 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, to Canton Dompaire and community association Secteur de Dompaire.

Geography

The small community Hennecourt located 13 kilometers west of Epinal in the center of the department of Vosges.

By the southwest of 7.17 km ² large municipality is approximately 22 km Gitte, a narrow tributary of Madon flows long. The Rupt Julot, a small stream, which flows from the north east in the lattice, forming the gentle, about 200 meters wide valley where the settlement Hennecourt oriented. History

The village Hennecourt was first mentioned in 1109 as Hennoniscuris. The spell Hennecourt belonged to half the chapters in Remiremont and local lords. Ecclesiastical Hennecourt was subordinated to the parish in the neighboring village Gorhey as part of the Deanery Jorxey.

Between 1790 and 1801 Hennecourt was a part of the community Dompaire.

Demographics

The reinforced construction of homes and the convenient location near Epinal led to the doubling of the population of hen courts in the last 40 years.
