Chignolo d'Isola

Chignolo d' Isola is a municipality in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region Lombardy with 3237 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Geography

Chignolo d' Isola is located 11 km southwest of the provincial capital of Bergamo and 35 km northeast of the city of Milan.

The neighboring municipalities are Bonate Sopra Bonate Sotto, Bottanuco, Madone, Medolago, and Terno d'Isola Suisio.

From 1927 to 1947 she was associated with the Madone to the municipality Centrisola.

Attractions

  • The Palazzo Roncalli was built in the 17th century by a noble family and restored in the 19th century.
  • The parish church of San Pietro was built in the years 1873 to 1885, but not consecrated until 1901. Inside the church there are many valuable paintings.
