Dümmer, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Dumber is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Stralendorf based in the community Stralendorf.
Geography
Dumber is located approximately 14 kilometers southwest of Schwerin and 16 kilometers north of Hagenow on Dümmersee through which the brews flowing.

History
Barrows and urnfield prove that near the lake Dumber in the millennia after the ice age always people lived to 600, for example Slavic settlers who Obotrites. Also the place name derives from the West Slavic language Polabian, in which the word " dum " for family and home is.
Dumber was first mentioned in Ratzeburg tithe register 1230. In Walsmühlen one suspects that a mill was built at the Sude was named. The name of the settlement Dumber hut explained by the glassworks from 1645 based Dumber. The place Parum was first mentioned in 1194. The first school was opened in Dumber 1710. On March 6, 1719 a battle between Mecklenburg and Hannovera niches troops took place in the district during the Great Northern War. Where the Mecklenburg were led by the later Prussian Field Marshal Kurt Christoph von Schwerin.

Attractions
Other attractions include the Gothic brick church with field stone base in the district Parum whose nave was built in 1450. Extensions learned the building with the wooden tower in 1770 and 1870 with a new choir and the transept in the Gothic Revival style. Also is the neo-Gothic interior.
East of Dumber in the lock timber is the Schlossberg, one by traditions from the 14th century built by vassals of the pin Ratzeburg medieval castle, which was of great importance because of its proximity to the county of Schwerin. The now overgrown by forest mountain with the moat surrounding it is an archaeological monument.
