Winners and nominees in the category of Best Actress - Drama (since 2005 Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama ), which honors the most outstanding performances by the actors of the past calendar year. The category was created in 1951 to life. The only victory for a non -English speaking role recorded in 1967 Anouk Aimée for the French production A man and a woman and 1973 Liv Ullmann for the Swedish-speaking drama emigrants.
