Ponteranica
Ponteranica is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6805 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy. It borders the provincial capital of Bergamo. Through the municipal area, the Strada Statale 470 results
Ponteranica is located on Maresena, a small inventory (formerly Monte Torsillio ). The wooded mainly with chestnut area belongs to the Parco dei Colli di Bergamo. In the municipality springs the river Morla.
Ponteranica was already as Lombard settlement ( Poltraniga ) known.
A building of greater importance is the Church of Saint Vincent and Alexander, which was built in the 15th century. In her paintings by Lorenzo Lotto from the year 1525/1527 have been preserved.
