Groß Laasch

Great Laasch is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Ludwigslust country located in the not office belonging Ludwiglust.

Geography and transport

The community within the city triangle Ludwig Lust - Neustadt- Glewe - Grabow is located about 35 kilometers south of Schwerin. The Müritz- Elde waterway flows in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the municipality. Federal highway 191 leads about two kilometers to the west past the place. Connection with the Federal Highway 24 is on the driveway Neustadt- Glewe seven kilometers away.

Great Laasch has a need maintenance on the railway line Ludwigslust - Parchim.

History

The first written record dates back to 1229 as " Laceke ". At that time, there have been a village church.

1791, the village church was built as a large Laasch nave, closed on three sides brick building after the previous building, a stone church, had become dilapidated.

From February 1945 to May 1945 there was a concentration camp Wöbbelin in the district of the town of Gross Laasch, about two kilometers west from the village center. At the former site of the camp in 2005 has been set up a memorial.
