Valbondione

Valbondione is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1068 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy. Valbondione is also the northernmost municipality in the province and borders the municipalities Piateda, Ponte in Valtellina and Teglio the province of Sondrio. The municipality is situated in the Bergamo Alps, so that the municipality over mountain ranges up to 3,050 meters covers (eg Monte Torena with 2,911 m or Punta Scais with 3,038 m). The community is located about 52 kilometers north of the provincial capital of Bergamo.

The mountain streams Bondione (as namesake of the municipality ) and Nero feed the Serio, so that the community belongs to the higher authorities in Seriana. 1927, the community of the present districts Lizzola, Bondione and Fiumenero was formed.

Also worth seeing is the waterfall of the Serio in the municipality.

Not far from here lies the Lago del Barbellino.
