William Worth Dickerson

William Worth Dickerson ( born November 29, 1851 in Sherman, Grant County, Kentucky; † 31 January 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio ) was an American politician. Between 1890 and 1893 he represented the state of Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Dickerson attended the public schools of his home and then a private school in Crittenden. After a subsequent law degree in 1872 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he began in Williamstown to work in this profession. Between 1872 and 1876 he was a prosecutor in Grant County.

Dickerson was a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1885 and 1887 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Kentucky; 1887 to 1891 he was a member of the State Senate. Following the resignation of Mr John Griffin Carlisle, he was at the election due in the sixth constituency of Kentucky as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 21 June 1890. After he was confirmed in the regular congressional elections of 1890, he could remain until March 3, 1893 Congress.

For the elections of 1892 William Dickerson was not nominated by his party for another term. He then practiced as a lawyer again in Williamstown. In 1902 he moved to Cincinnati, where he also worked in this profession. He is also passed on 31 January 1923.
