Fürthen

Fürthen is a municipality in the district of Old Churches ( Westerwald) in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hamm (Sieg).

Community structure

The municipality comprises the main town and the municipal districts Opsen, cap stone, Mümmelbach and Oppertsau. The latter is a " shared " Location: through it runs the border between Rhineland -Palatinate and North Rhine -Westphalia. History

By the year 1806 Fürthen belonged to the county of Sayn- ​​Hachenburg. Fürthen formed within the parish Hamm a "Send " above its own administrative district, which included the towns of cap stone, Mümmelbach, Oppertsau, Opsen and Walbach.
