Kausen
Kausen is a municipality in the district of Old Churches ( Westerwald) in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Gebhardshain.
Geography
The municipality is located on the northern foothills of the Westerwald out the winner country south of Betzdorf; Neighboring municipalities are Steineroth the northwest, Molzhain in the West, Elke Roth in the south and large village in the southwest. North of the village rises the Old Born head ( 455 m ) southwest of the Hassel ego head ( 508 m).
History
Kausen was first mentioned in 1461 as " Arkussen " in a marienstätter certificate.

The local council in Kausen consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
