Nakhon Ratchasima Province
Nakhon Ratchasima ( Thai นครราชสีมา, pronunciation: [ Nak ʰ ɔ ː n ː ma ː asǐ râtt͡ɕ ʰ ], even Khorat or Korat) is a province in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Wetlands and agriculture
The Nakhon Ratchasima province has a total of 346 wetlands covering an area of 37.4 km ², which are more or less intensively used for agriculture.
Archeology
- Ban Lum Khao - archaeological place on the Khorat Plateau,
- Ban Tham Yae - archaeological course in the area of Phimai,
- Mueang Sema - archaeological place in the district of Sung Noen.
Attractions
- Ban Kho - about 14 kilometers northeast of Nakhon Ratchasima: here we find the Wat Prasat Phanom Wan, a sanctuary from the 11th century. The layout is similar to the Prast Hin Phimai. The temple was originally built to honor the Hindu god Shiva. Only in the Ayutthaya period, he became a Buddhist temple ( Wat ). Today, there are several gilded Buddha statues in modern times.
- Wat Prasat Hin Noen Ku - about 37 kilometers west of Nakhon Ratchasima: remarkable Khmer temples, it stands on a square terrace with sculptures from the 10th century.
- Phimai Historical Park - the best preserved Khmer city on the ground in Thailand, with a gate and extensive temple complex still preserved in the style of Angkor. It is located in Amphoe Phimai.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms of the province shows Thao Suranari (1772-1852), one of the local heroines. She was the wife of the governor and gathered 1826, the population of the surrounding country, to fight against the Laotians who marched under King Anuvong to Bangkok to King Rama III. overthrow ( Anuvong rebellion ). In recognition of their bravery gave her the king the title of Thao Suranari.
