Geography

The County is located in Eastern Arkansas between the White River in the west and the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Mississippi to the east. History

The Phillips County was formed on 1 May 1920 obtains from parts of Arkansas County and Hempstead County. It was named after Sylvanus Phillips, the first white settlers whose names are known in the area and a member of the territorial government.
