Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix

The Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle is a motorcycle race that has been held since 1950 and 1951 for the first time belonged to the motorcycle world championship. It takes place at the Circuito de Jerez near Jerez de la Frontera.

History

The race was first held in 1950. Precursor was the Grand Prix of Barcelona, ​​which was held at the same location since 1933. From 1951 to 1955, had world championship status for the first time. Since 1961, the Grand Prix continuously belongs to the Motorcycle World Championship. First, was held at the Circuit de Montjuïc and later at the Circuito del Jarama. Since 1989, the race will take place at the Circuito de Jerez.
