Lépanges-sur-Vologne

Lépanges -sur- Vologne is a commune with 920 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, founded the canton of Bruyeres and to the 2002 Local Government Association Vallée de la Vologne.

Geography

History

Lépanges emerged as Lesperange on in the 11th and 12th centuries. The village was part of the Bailiwick of Bruyeres. The inhabitants were divided into two parishes, they went to Champ- le- Duc or after Charmois -devant- Bruyeres, later to Deycimont. All three parishes belonged to the deanery Bruyeres in the diocese Epinal. A separate parish was Lépanges until 1866, it was consecrated Saint- Libaire a holy martyr, who was beheaded in the year 362 on the orders of the Roman Emperor Julian.
