1902–03 in English football

The Football League First Division 1902/ 03 was the 15th season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league. The Wednesday won, each with a point spacing before Aston Villa and Sunderland AFC for the first time in club history the English Championship. Both newly promoted West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough FC could get the class. Instead, had to Grimsby Town and Bolton Wanderers take the course in the Second Division. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two second-division promoted Manchester City and Small Heath.

A total of 410 players were used, with Notts County with 18, the least and the Bolton Wanderers with 30 aufboten most players in league games. 138 newcomers were offset by 120 footballers who most recently came into play in the 1902/03 season.
