1905–06 in English football

The Football League First Division 1905/ 06 was the 18th season of the Football League First Division English as the highest football league. The team FC Liverpool won with four points behind Preston North End before the second English championship in the club's history. In addition to the Liverpool could get the class with the Bolton Wanderers and the second climber. Instead, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers had to play the course in the Second Division. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two newly promoted second division Bristol City and Manchester United.

A total of 502 players were used, with Liverpool having the fewest 21 and Aston Villa with 33 aufboten most players in league games. 177 newcomers were offset by 147 footballers who most recently came into play in the 1905/06 season.
