1950–51 in English football

The Football League First Division 1950/51 was the 52nd season of the Football League First Division English as the highest football league. Movers Tottenham Hotspur won with four points behind Manchester United the first English championship in their history. The second climber next to Tottenham - Sheffield Wednesday - could not get the class and had next to Everton take the course in the Second Division. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two newly promoted second division Preston North End and Manchester City.

A total of 512 players were used, with Tottenham Hotspur and FC Fulham the least and Sheffield Wednesday with 27 mustered 19 most players in league games. 141 newcomers were offset by 114 footballers who most recently came into play in the season 1950/51.
