Edward A. Pease

Edward Allan Pease ( May 22nd, 1951 in Terre Haute, Indiana) is an American politician. Between 1997 and 2001 he represented the State of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Edward Pease attended until 1969 the Gerst Meyer High School and then studied until 1977 at Indiana University in Bloomington, among other Jura. He was director of the Wabash Valley Division of the Boy Scouts of America. For his activities for this youth organization, he was later awarded several medals. In the years 1974 and 1975 Pease worked as a clerk for the Attorney General of Indiana. He then worked as a lawyer in Brazil. He also held several leading positions in the field of university administrations; as he was inter alia 1993-1997 Vice President of the Indiana State University.

Politically, Pease joined the Republican Party. Between 1980 and 1992 he was a member of the Senate of Indiana. In the congressional elections of 1996 he was in the seventh election district of his state in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John T. Myers on January 3, 1997. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 2001, two legislative sessions. In Congress, Pease was a member of the Judiciary Committee. In this role he was involved in the failed impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton.

In 2000 Edward Pease gave up another candidacy. After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives, he worked for the American subsidiary of Rolls- Royce. There he was responsible for relations with the government authorities.
