Lemuel W. Royse

Lemuel Willard Royse (* January 19, 1847 in Pierceton, Kosciusko County, Indiana; † 18 December 1946 in Warsaw, Indiana ) was an American politician.

Royse studied law and practiced by his inclusion in the legal profession in 1874 in Warsaw. In 1876 he was prosecuting attorney at the 33rd Judicial District of Indiana. From 1885 to 1891 Royse exercised the office of the Mayor of Warsaw.

Royse, who was a delegate to the 1892 Republican National Convention, was elected for his party in Congress and represented there on 4 March 1895 to 3 March 1899 13 electoral district of the state of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1898, he was no longer prepared by his party as a candidate. Royse began again to practice in Warsaw. From 1904 to 1908 and from 1920 to 1932 he was a judge at Kosciusko County Circuit Court in the period between its judges work and thereafter until his retirement in 1940, Royse active in his former profession. He died in 1946 in Warsaw and was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery.
