Histories
Although Shakespeare's real persons of contemporary history (Macbeth, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra ) are available in numerous pieces in the center, it usually referred to the pieces as historical dramas (or histories ), which were classified according to the first folio edition of 1623: King John, Henry VIII, Henry VI. (three parts), Richard III. , Richard II, Henry IV ( two-piece) and Henry the Fifth. Edward III. , Whose authorship was not completely clear, is also attributed to Shakespeare.
These pieces treat the history of England from the 12th to the 16th century and are named after a monarch who ruled at that time over the English Kingdom.
